Jurassic Park Quiz β Welcome to Isla Nublar
Jurassic Park is one of the most famous adventure stories ever told. It began as a 1990 novel by Michael Crichton about a theme park filled with cloned dinosaurs. In 1993, Steven Spielberg turned it into a blockbuster that thrilled audiences and changed how movies were made. More than 30 years later, the franchise is still releasing new films.
The story centers on John Hammond, a billionaire whose company has cloned dinosaurs using DNA found in mosquitoes trapped in amber. Before opening his park, he invites paleontologist Alan Grant, paleobotanist Ellie Sattler and mathematician Ian Malcolm to inspect it, along with his two grandchildren. When the power fails during a storm, the animals escape and chaos follows.
The film was a technical breakthrough. Industrial Light and Magic created realistic computer-generated dinosaurs, while Stan Winston's team built life-size animatronic creatures, including a T. rex that weighed several tons. John Williams wrote the soaring music, and the movie became the highest-grossing film ever at the time of its release.
Sequels followed, including The Lost World and Jurassic Park III. In 2015, Jurassic World, starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, revived the series with a fully working park. Two more Jurassic World films followed, and in 2025 Jurassic World Rebirth introduced a new cast led by Scarlett Johansson. The films also inspired toys, games and theme park rides.
